We spent some time this week exploring and discovering the things we are grateful for. Students explored different mediums in our ignite time that encouraged us to be mindful and thoughtful. We created "metaphorical" chalk paste pictures and zendoodles. In math we continue to explore addition and subtraction strategies.
Learning Intentions from the week:
- I can perform mental calculations for simple addition and subtraction problems efficiently.
- I can demonstrate fluency in adding and subtracting numbers.
- I can recognize and apply number patterns and relationships to streamline addition and subtraction.
- I can analyze data and draw conclusions based on evidence.
- I can learn and practice some mindful techniques and become more aware of my feelings.
- I can write a persuasive plan and paragraph.
- I can sort my words based on patterns while I do my word work.
- We will explore virtues and identify examples of these in our world.
- We will continue to building our addition and subtraction skills.
- We will continue to explore problem solving in math.
- We will transfer our learned mapping skills to the provincial map of Alberta.
- We will continue to make connections between texts I read and my own experiences and prior knowledge
