Hello Families!
Thank you to all of our volunteers for helping out at our Glenbow Ranch field trip! What a great day!
There is no school tomorrow as it is National Truth and Reconciliation Day. Students have been forming a greater understanding of what we can do as a community to bring awareness to those affected by residential schools.
Learning Intentions from the week:
- I can explore and reflect on who Eric Havie was and understand the legacy he left behind.
- I can make connections with the land, the history of Alberta and its settlers while exploring Glenbow Ranch
- I can spell words accurately, including high-frequency words and common spelling patterns
- I can adapt my problem-solving strategies when faced with different types of logic puzzles, demonstrating versatility in my thinking
- I can understand the place value of numbers up to 100 000 and show my understanding in a variety of ways.
- I can demonstrate empathy to those affected by residential schools and show support through my actions.
Looking Ahead:
- We will continue to make connections and understand the impact Eric Harvie had in Alberta
- We will establish our routines for word work activities
- We will continue to learn strategies for mindfulness and being aware of our feelings
- We will organize and create factual paragraphs about flowers from our science mini inquiry
- We will explore our understanding of addition and subtraction through computations and problem solving.
Have a great long weekend!
