Friday, April 5th

Happy April Everyone! We hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing break with your family!

Thank you for sending in donations of t-shirts and egg cartons. Ahead of Earth Day on April 22nd, we have been learning about ways to make sustainable choices and our impact on the environment. Students learned about the life cycle of a t-shirt and up-cycled their t-shirts into tote bags which we will later use when we go to Coulee School! Next week, we will be planting tomato seeds through the Tomato sphere program and making spring art with our cartons.

In Math, we have finished exploring area and perimeter. We have been practicing the standard/traditional method for multiplying 2 and 3-by 1 digit multiplication. Here is a link explaining this method: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3JRTxFZZIs. Practicing problem questions at home wold be helpful moving forward! In the coming weeks, we will be exploring long division (Grade 4), while the Grade 3's continue to solidify their understanding of basic division within 100.

Students in 3/4 Stacey/Huebner have started an independent project with a focus on an Albertan animal. They are conducting research on their animals appearance, habitat, food chain, etc. They will eventually be using their research to create a representation of their learning and will share this learning with their classmates in the form of a presentation.

Important Dates:

Tuesday, April 9th: Picture Day

Have a restful weekend!
