 Hello Families!

We hope everyone had a nice fall break. In this short week we accomplished a lot! This week was Metis Week! In celebration of the Metis culture, we learned to jig, created dot art, and listened to music from Metis artists.

  • Math - We continue to work on addition and subtraction basic facts and larger number addition and subtraction strategies, including regrouping through calculations and problem solving.
  • Inquiry- We are learning about states of matter, creating potions and learning that all matter is made of atoms. In social studies we are learning mapping skills and learning about the communities we know about in Alberta.
  • ELA - Students continue to practice their reading skills through read to self, read to others, through guided reading and small reading groups. Classes are learning to create more descriptive sentences using adjectives and adverbs. Our class read aloud, A Rover's Story, has been very fun to listen to and to learn about Mars and STEM-based ideas!
Next week are Parent/Child/Teacher conferences. Please watch for a message from the office to book an appointment for next Thursday evening or Friday. Looking forward to meeting with everyone!
